Aunt G mentioned in my Gob Cake posting that I also had a Banana Gob Cake recipe that tasted like a Twinkie. I thought maybe some of you might like to have it posted too. Just by changing the flavor of cake and pudding mixes there are so many varieties of gob cakes you can make from this recipe. Hope you like this one too.

BANANA GOB CAKE

1 Duncan Hines Banana Supreme cake mix
1 small pkg.banana cream instant pudding
1/4 cup oil
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups whole milk

Beat at high speed 6 minutes. Bake on 2 jelly roll pans or cookie sheets
with sides at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. (read message below) Cool

Filling..........whip 2 egg whites until stiff
Add...........1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup hot canned milk
Beat until dissolved
Add...........3/4 cup Crisco
3/4 cup oleo
3 tsp. vanilla
Beat for a long time until fluffy

Grease both pans and cover one pan with waxed paper before putting in the
cake batter (leave enough wax paper on the ends for handling later). Check
the cakes at 15 minutes as that's how long my oven usually takes as you
don't want them to overbake as they aren't a very deep layer.

While baking cakes make your icing as it has to beat a long time to get
fluffy. When both layers are cool, cover the cake layer in the pan without
the waxed paper with the icing and flip the other layer over the
icing.........remove the waxed paper. Cover with foil and keep
refrigerated.
