5 Things your dog will never understand

1. It’s not laughable to practice barking at 2 a.m.

2. It’s wrong to back our child into a corner and then guard him.

3. You shouldn’t jump on our bed just after taking a bath.

4. The cats, just like you, have every right to be in the living room.

5. Getting up does not mean we are going for a walk.

@pattypeep, amen.

I will add number 6.

Just because you sit, it does not mean there is a treat in it for you.

My dogs do understand those things, well except jumping on the bed after a bath, but the rest are not an issue in my house.

I'd like to amend number 5 to:  Getting up does not mean we are going to the kitchen.

I didn't author these. Saw them on line and thought it may generate some conversation. It's been pretty quiet on the boards lately. >:

This has been a common one through the years for me with most of my dogs. They've never understood that they did not have to accompany me to the bathroom for me to "get the job done," so to speak. I haven't gone potty by myself in almost thirty years. Ha!!!!!!!!!!!

How about...

Just because you can hear the ice in my glass as I finish my drink, or hear me open the freezer door, doesn't mean there's ice for you.   (Well, OK, it probably does)  Smiley Wink

And, excuse me while I attempt to make the bed up around your 60lb dog body.  (But I love being warm and snug with you there at night).

Yes, the $800 dog bed we call the chaise, may be yours so that you can look out the front window and guard us from the children walking to the school bus.  (However, in the event of a thief, go for the throat - or better yet - ).

In all seriousness, he's a great dog.  I'm not sure what he really understands, but it works!
