food saver machines

As usual I am in need of a food saver machine and the TSV etc are long gone. Does anyone have opinions on the hand held machines versus the large food saver machine? I have a hand held one and of course now the bags are sold out everywhere. Are the hand held as effective for freezing foods? Thank you.
