cooks essentials 4 quart pressure cooker

Hey guys.

Just got cooks essential pressure. The 4 quart one. Does anyone out there have one? Supposedly the directions tell me that I should be able to clean the pressure regulator knob by turning the knob to steam and lift up and remove.

I cannot fathom for the life of me how this happens. I know it sounds simple, but have tried numerous times to no avail. Doesn't lift up and remove.

Any help greatly appreciated.
