What's cooking at your house in HOT July?

JULY

I can’t believe it’s already you, July.
Half the year has now passed me by.
A moment ago it was New Year’s Day
With fresh resolutions to pave my way.

My chagrin is rescued by wondrous July
As gorgeous fireworks light up the sky.
This freedom that I assume is owed
Was purchased by many a bloody road.

Though air is sultry and mosquitoes bold,
I prefer you, July, to the winter’s cold.

I forgot to start the July topic. I'm going to move my last post over here.

Went to see the fireworks last night. Was able to sit in DD's front yard in lawn chairs and chat while waiting for them to start. Made for a nice end of the day.

Had sliced turkey, mayo, onion sandwiches with fresh cut veggies for dinner last night. Something simple.

Still in the mid 90's here for the next week. Way too hot for me. I like it to stop in the high 70's. Need to turn down the heat here.
