Wagner Magnalite pots & pans - how to clean?

Can anyone tell me how to clean Wagner Magnalite cookware? I've inherited an old (probably 50+ years old) oval roaster & a sauce pan, but I haven't tried cooking in it yet because I don't know how to clean it. I seem to remember hearing not to use cleanser or steel wool pads or the dishwasher. Also, any tips for cooking with this old Magnalite would be greatly appreciated. tia
