I have never given any thought to this before our Christmas Eve dinner. When you have a set of salt and pepper shakers and one has three holes and the other two holes, which one does the salt go in?
I have always put the salt in the one with more holes, my mother used to do that too. I believe it's because people use more salt then they do pepper. But, I was told at our dinner that it should be the other way around. Someone put a lot of salt on their food thinking it was pepper.
Are there any rules for this? Have I been doing it wrong for 50 years?
