FYI...I did see the Vitamix 48 oz wet container on Amazon for $87.50.

Funny that this question should come up now - a friend asked me yesterday if my container was stained. She said hers does really stained; not only cloudy and marred, but actually color-stained from the veggies in smoothies (carrots especially). Never heard that before.

I had to get on my husband for using a harsh scrubbing sponge on mine. It shows up as light scratches all over the inside. Still can see through it.. I clean it using the regular side of a sponge and dry it with a paper towel. I've heard you need to baby the container.
