Induction stove top burner

I used my induction stove top burner today for the first time....I got it from Evine and is from Ming Tsai...it iis easy enough and worked well....however....just wondering, do all induction burners make a noise?  Sounds like a motor running.....I was using it while I was watching TV.....I actually had to turn the TV up....the burner made so much noise.

Ming Tsai sells on HSN not Evine.  Yes, there is a fan or something in the burner that makes a humming noise while its operating, however, mine is very quiet and certainly doesn't interfere with TV.
