I'm surprised, I had mine for years before upgrading. My sister is still using my old one.

I use jars more than bags, but I do like the divider bags that are fairly new.

I use Mason Jars a lot as well. I hardly ever buy bag rolls because most of my stuff goes in Mason Jars.

I've been collecting 2 qt canning jars for years just for my foodsaver. I found a bunch at a Harbor Freights once. LOL, I bought 4 cases for about a buck apiece. It was like finding gold.

LOL That's great. The jars are so cheap and last a lifetime.

I still have a couple of the gray canisters, but over the years they tend to crack at the lid, and I've not replaced them. Short of dropping a jar, it's invincible.

I mainly use old fashion mason jars and they last. I have some that my grandmother used. However, I do own a food saver and when it comes to certain things like cheese I use and like the results. It has probably been about 15 years ago when I bought my food saver and I too buy off amazon to get cheaper rolls for the food saver and it is the Weston brand.

I think I threw my plastic canisters that came with my unit out. I haven't seen them in ages. I think they were just taking up closet space.

I used to do that but now I simply wash out, save and use my spaghetti sauce jars and do not need to worry about bending mason lids. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

I would say any of the models that are NOT automatic and require you to push the vacuum and seal button.

I've been thinking about getting one for a while. How does the foodsaver work with mason jars?
