Edit:  Can someone tell me more about freezing?  Do you store it in small batches?  What do you store it in?  How long will it keep for?

I store mine in plastic freezer jars.

I freeze the crumbs in typical amounts I'm likely to use--ie half cup or quarter cup. I use those ziploc snack bags. If I have a few of them, I put them all in a larger quart bag so I don't lose them in the freezer. They keep quite a while--say half a year. Eventually they get stale-tasting in the freezer.
