Cake mixes made with just a can of soda...

I was listening to the radio and they had a consumer segment that claimed that you can make a store cake mix with just a 12 oz. can of soda and you didn't need to add eggs, oil or butter to the mix. Has anyone heard of this or tried it? It was a reputable show with lots of good consumer info.
