Pave and invisible set, that's all I see, tiny tiny stones

I live near a small town with one major jewelry store. All they are showing is pieces with either pave or invisible set stones. Little itty bitty stones. Is this the current style all over, or are they just trying to show a look for less money? I can't think of a tactful way to ask them this question.
