DS is in a very fine re-hab hospital. The finest in the region and up there among the best in the country.

His color is not good; he's a very washed out grey. This is due to his very low hemoglobin levels, below 8 even after two transfusions. This happened before and really sent him in a tailspin with his overall health. They've been on top of this from the get-go so I guess we have to be patient and allow his body to readjust.

His re-hab activities were stopped yesterday b/c he had too much coumadin (sp) in his system, which he was given to prevent clotting after the surgery. Either his system processes it differently or something is up with that. The coumadin has been halted for now until his levels become more reasonable. We're concerned with him not hemorrhaging and also that he be able to progress with re-hab and not become stagnant.

He is not eating. He has no appetite and he says the food stinks besides. However, we've left him $ to order, which the nurses suggested, and have offered to bring him whatever he'd eat. But nada on food. B/c of this, I believe, he is freezing although his room is a comfy temp to us. Fortunately his is drinking and swallowing isn't an issue.

His spirits are not so great with all the problems which have arisen.
