It is a cultural thing and mostly for people of Mediterranean decent. So to say it is ugly or creepy.... It could be made ugly way, otherwise it is just a symbol.

I have some of it. I gave most of it to my 12 year old granddaughter for her birthday a few weeks ago.

She seemed to like it. Maybe she was being nice.

I totally want one of these. It's on my eBay watch list. I also got an evil eye ring at TJ Maxx and I swear it's just like the Judith ripka one. I think it is by the same manufacturer because every thing is exact except mine is green inside the eye. I love the evil eye jewelry.

In Malta, Turkey, and Israel they were called God's eye before they were ever called evil eye. Don't know why the change, but they are supposed to protect the wearer from the evil wishes of others. Yes, I have a gold one and a silver one and I wear them frequently.
