Valerie Parr Hill on Facebook

I must be a little dim, but every time Valerie has a show, she asks us to friend her on Facebook. When I access her page on Facebook, it says she only shares information with certain people and if I know her to send her a message. When I do that, I get no reply. Can someone enlighten me on how to friend her?
