@Lilysmom I only come to the garden forum occasionally but when I do you always have these beautiful pictures.  You have a lovely property!  It looks like you work hard at it, too.  Thanks for sharing your nature scenes with us.

We have two pin oaks out front and they have dried brown leaves until spring.

 

They are just 4 years old but have acorns (I had to look for them FAST before the squirrels got them all!)

@terrier3, haha on the squirrels.  We have tons of them here.  From time to time, my Lab will take a run at them but they are much to quick for her!

 

I find the squirrels to be bad tunnelers.  They dug under my prized red maple (Bloodgood) last year and, if we hadn't caught it, I think it would have sunk a couple of feet.  It is close to a large granite rock on one side and they came from that end.

 

i would be happier if the oaks would drop their leaves somewhere else other than in my gardens but they are so lovely, I am forgiving.  🙄  LM
