LOL - I admit... I'm amused with what marketing teams do with words! I'm watching AM Style right now and they're showing a D&B "pouchette." I would call it a "little purse." Do any of you have other amusing "marketing word choices" to share?

@Goldengate8361

And let's not forget the over-used "Fabrication".  Woman LOL

Re: When did a pouch become a "pouchette?"

In my mind, I've always considered a 'pouch' as a soft silk or velvet fabric drawstring pouch, maybe to hold jewelry.  A 'pouchette' would be even smaller.  Just the way I think, lol.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Doesn't the word "fake" sound so much better in French: "faux"? It makes everything seem soooo much finer and more expensive.! Lol.

    Faux fur vs. fake fur

    Faux leather vs. fake leather

How about "lab-created"?

    Lab-created emeralds vs. fake or imitation emeralds

"Pre-owned"

    Pre-owned car vs. used car

Then, of course, all the fancy fabric names now used to describe what was once simply called "polyester."

The thing that amuses me most about these marketing euphemisms is that the price suddenly gets higher when they use a fancy word to describe something that's anything but...

I'm starting to notice "pre-loved" used in place of "pre-owned".
It all just gets sillier and sillier, but I guess these tactics work.

@blueroses47: When something is "pre-loved," it makes me wonder why it is no longer loved. Lol.

Re: When did a pouch become a "pouchette?"

"Colorways" can demand a higher price than just plain "colors."  Woman Surprised And if it's a Pantone colorway, the sky's the limit!
