@LTT1, those aren't "mom jeans" in the pic you posted. Those are boyfriend jeans, intentionally worn slouchy, below the waist, and cuffed. Mom jeans would be worn tight at or above the waist with a very tapered leg down to the ankle.

@SaRina

I am not seeing the difference? I did edit my original picture.

Hahaha. Seriously, a link to a clip from a G-RATED 1981 movie was reported by someone as "inappropriate"?  SMDH

@LTT1, yes, you deleted the pic of the boyfriend jeans. The pic you put in its place are more like mom jeans in that the waist is tight and high. However, some updated elements have been added like being rolled up at the ankles, or appliques, or deconstruction.

Nevertheless, as you can see in this pic that @handygal posted...

the traditional mom jeans (meant to be a derogatory term, BTW) are quite unflattering. The rise is high, emphasizing a poochy stomach and big rear end. Unfortunately, most will not look good in this style except the young, extremely slim, with a significant hip to waist ratio, flat stomach and perky rear. But even then....
