If it were the fault of the washer, the holes would appear all over.  Macy's should take them back.  They won't stand the loss, Levis will.  Ex Levi men's store buyer here.

Well, it's either a problem with the washer or the jeans.

 

I heard about not washing jeans and keeping them in the freezer.  I could never do that...

We took the jeans back to Macy's and got a full refund. My washer is fine,my husbands black levis don't do this, neither does my IM jeans. Only the dark blue denims. Thanks @depglass
