Susan Graver said she designed for Bloomingdales ( must have been 30 years ago, hard to believe) and she is known as Dottie Graver. Really???? Who knows her by that??

She is something.

Dottie was her mother-in-law - who passed away.

I heard her say when she was designing for Bloomingdale's she made a lot of polka dots because she loves them. She said people began to call her Dottie.

Susan has been telling this story for 31 years.

It has a life of it's own.

@kivah

She was called "dottie" since she had so many items with dots on them, her mother in law was Audrey Graver

As others have explained, she was referring to her mother-in-law.

No; her mother in law was Audrey Graver.  Susan"s nickname was Dottie because she used to design so many garments with polka dots.

She tells the story often. As already explained, it was because she designed a lot of items with polka dots.

Her MIL was Audrey, not Dottie.

As for your "she is something" - how catty.. Were you working with her 30 years ago to know this is not true? Don't believe it? Just move on....geesh

The original post was 5 years ago.

I would have thought it basically Susan Graver trivia today.
