When I was  a little girl learning to sew - my mother and grandmother kept scrap boxes of leftover fabrics that would eventually become patchwork quilts.  I was allowed to take whatever scraps I wanted to make my dolls' clothes.

The clothes sort of looked like that dress ... made from scraps of leftovers.  Who would have guess that DVF would do today what I did in the 1940s?
