Am I alone in hating the cold shoulder, slit sleeve designs?

There was a maxi on the Channel of the South on sale that I liked. I was going to order the black and was deciding on a second in a color when I saw it on the model. The outside of the sleeve was open so that changed my mind.

These open flappy sleeves are on everything from tops to dresses so someone must like them. A dress that would be timeless, that could be worn for years becomes one with a short shelf life when it has those slits and bare shoulders.

So, am I the only one who wants no part of sleeve slits and peekaboo shoulders?
