That HP is tempting but for windows 8 and christine doesn't reply to blog questions and R those extended warrantys good?

So what's the point of referring us to her blog? At least I couldn't find any answers pertaining to this particular model --actually I don't see any answers- just questions.So has anyone purchased one of those extended warranty offers for $99. on electronics- and do they follow through? I asked for comments on a new laptop --- Toshiba was a front-runner but this HP has tremendous stuff offered --- other than I hate to try to learn a new system ( old dog that I am) and wonder if some of my own software will work ( Hallmark 2012) I also recently paid for Norton Security for a year -- can the trendmicro be removed for a year and then put back on? ( not sure if it's any good- and I do prefer norton's security over just an antivirus program.) Just how reliable is HP customer service? Anyone?
