Question about Kindle Cover

I am finally going to buy a Kindle - the plain $79 version. Do I also need to buy a cover? I see they have with or without a light. The cover with the light is $59 on Amazon, which I think is pricey since the reader itself only costs $79. I don't travel that much, so I would primarily use it at home. Thanks.
