Please explain these laptop specs to me? This one really works well

All my dear tekkie friends, here are the specifications for the laptop I brought home from school -- this runs my large whiteboard in the classroom and may be more powerful than needed at home, but never-the-less, it works without interruption.

Computer specifications school laptop

HP PROBOOK 6450b intel CORE i5 CPU M520 2.40GHz

Windows 7 operating system

RAM 2GB

32bit operating system

3.8 Windows Experience Rating System

I would be so grateful if someone could explain why this laptop is flash fast and my other (Gateway) i4 just flops== usually the arrow spins around and around and it loses internet connectivity. TIA
