I can't say if it's better or worse since I only have the Frie TV Stick, but it works great for me so far. There are lots of reviews and comparisons out there if you Google. For $16.04 on Prime Day it was just too good of a deal to pass up.

Mine is up and running too! It was so simple to install, really just plug and play. And yes, it probably took longer to get the battery cover off!

 

I also used the extender, only because of the way the wiring is on the back of the tv. But I like your idea of knowing where it is just in case it's needed.

It's a neat little gadget! I've got something like eight thousand songs on Amazon's cloud and I'm listening to some of my music with it now. I've also been watching the Big Brother live feeds through the CBS All Access app, watched a few YouTube videos, I'll be taking a look at the photos I have on Amazon's cloud next.
