IPad Apps

I got an iPad Air two weeks ago.I'm ashamed to admit it sat in the box for two weeks because I had little faith in myself that I could set it up. To my amazement I did! I have an iPod and would like to transfer some of the apps and music to my iPad, I don't want to buy them again. How do I transfer just the apps and music I want?TIA
