I'm using Avast free on my newest computers.

I back that up with Malwarebytes anti-malware, but I use the paid version.    The bummer is that they no longer sell the Lifetime license for this one, though, and now it has annual renewals.  Too bad for that.  I'm going to keep my lifetime licenses as long as I can.  I've already transferred a couple of them from older computers to newer ones and they are great about that.

I also like Avast (anti-virus) and Malwarebytes (for malware).

I have Avast, also.  My computer man recommended the basic free version only.

I have used free Avast and a paid malware program like Malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes paid edition comes with a free trial .

I appreciate all the feedback with this.  My Norton license will expire early next year and I will go with Avast and purchase Malwarebytes at that time (currently I have the free version).

Thanks everybody!

I liked using free Avast so much to where I wanted to get the full coverage paid version that offers more coverage on your computer.

For example, if you want to do any financial transactions on your computer, the paid version of Avast is recommended for that. Cat Happy
