@ECBG, This funny just came to mind, better to be blinked at all than never to be blinked at all...Up feeding my  fur kids, they eat at 6, mind is silly this time of the morning ,.happy time ... You got to admitt you got some good posts.... Have s nice friday!Maryanne

I get a fair number of "likes", but I only see notificatioins if I click on the "Notifications" button beside my name.  Where does one see "blinks"?

Speaking for the OP, I believe the "blinks"are the

dark notification boxes which occurs momentarily 

at the bottom of your pic/mobile device.

Yes, 1 'heart' can result in 2-3 'blinks' or notifications.

@Keeper of the koi,Apparently their blink button got stuck!  The thing literelly wouldn't turn off for one post!  It must have gone on ten times!  Rather like a caution light!  Wonderful Friday to you!  Kiss those adorable fur babies!

My experience is that it will keep popping up umtil you actually go LOOK at that person's "Like" by clicking on it, not just viewing the Notification. And yes, lately I've been getting half a dozen notifications for one Like, looked at or not - but it's random, not all the time.
