cat hyperthyroidism?

Hi~

just picked up cat from vet...he is about 16 yrs...

vet said he has hyperthyroidism, and will need meds the rest of his life...

I've never had an older cat before...

has anyone had experience w/ this, and can give any recommendations or advice...?

going to do some on-line research now...thanks!
