My husband and I were having this discussion tonight. A few years ago my son came home asking about Grease. I went to Blockbuster and rented it. Now I can't do that. Red Box only carries current movies. We have Comcast movies on demand, but we can get only what they choose to offer. And we can only watch it as long as they want to offer it! Forget anything made in the 1940's or 50's. I was telling my daughter about Laura and Back Street. I can't get them unless I buy them from an online site. It's a real shame this happened. I remember before our children were born and we would go to a little movie rental place in town every Saturday to get a movie to watch that night. We would see a lot of our friends there - it was like a meeting place of sorts. That independent movie rental place, where they would punch your membership card, had everything. We need them back, but I know that won't happen. I miss that!
