I am so sorry for you loss.  Something very similar happened to my friend's son about 15 years ago, he was in his mid-20's at the time.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I know of another horrible story, just like that of the OP. Again, it was a vibrant young man who thought he had a bug, did nothing about it, and was found by his family who hadn't heard from him. Tragedy doesn't begin to describe this terrible event.
