@MarieIG  Thank you.  It's just uplifting news, I was foolish to hope that's all that would be said about it.

No, please don't feel that you were foolish. You are sweet. You were trying (and did) share an uplifting moment with others.

YOU are NOT the foolish one.

Well, that didn't last long.  I tried.  Woman Frustrated

You just keep posting things like this, @IamMrsG.  The good stories need to be told, too.

We all too often only hear about the "bad news" because that's what "sells" and I think it's a disservice to everyone.  It increases the divisions among us, instead of helping us to work together to create a better future.

I still believe the world is basically good and the good truly does outweigh the bad.

Thanks for the positive story.  Have a great day!

@Vassago I agree with YOU.  I can laud and be grateful for all the good that is done within the LE community.  However, I will always acknowledge that as a social construct, it still has its shares of problems just like the broader society we live in.

We must do both.  We must ask these good LE officials who take their jobs seriously and abide by the oath they swore, to stand up to those among them that are not capable or unwilling to understand that they pose a blight on them all.  To be silent is to be complicit and unfortunately, the good among them will be painted with the same broad brush unfairly.

@Venezia We have to.  Ignoring the negative won't solve our problems.

Re: Police officer gives a speeding motorist a 100 mile ride

I think anyone who blames every policeman or woman for the actions of a few should put their name on a list.  If anyone on that list calls 911, no one should respond.

Re: Police officer gives a speeding motorist a 100 mile ride

Thank you for understanding my point Itiswhatitis.

People doing the job doesn't need to be reported or in the news, they take an oath to protect and serve. In the news, a pleasant cashier rings up a customer....

The realizing there is a major problem in the police fields with calls for accountability, does not make one anti police or think negative of police in general. You can be pro police and realize the problem of rogue officers. They aren't mutually exclusive.
