Over $259,000 in just 7 hours from almost 8,000 donations.

Chris Mintz, the 30 year old heroic Veteran was shot 7 times.  He is out of surgery and recovering from non life threatening injuries.  He is the hero of yesterday's Oregon shooting.  He deserves this recognition and all the monetary help thankful people want to give him. Heart

I forgot to mention that this is all in a GoFundMe account.  Pretty amazing.

I'm glad people are recognizing him and his name.  Remembering the Hero's name and not the Zero's name is one thing Americans can do.  And the media can and should help with this, IMO.

I missed that part.  The name I saw on the account is his cousin's, Derek something.

 And now the dollar amount is jumped up to $271,000 since my OP. Wow!  I'm thinking if he gets more than he needs, he may even share with other victims in need of help.  Seems like that kind of guy.

Will his money go to all the survivors?

Maybe they tried to stop the shooter but their actions weren't trending on Twitter.

@sidsmom

Not trending on Twitter?  Well, it should be.  Here's the story about Chris Mintz.

This particular GoFund account is in his name only set up by his family just 8 hours ago.  It is now up over $305,000 from over 9,000 donations.

All of the money raised will be put towards his medical bills.
