Are paragraphs out of style? it is a bizarre read

Europeans use a period to separate thousands when writing numbers, where we use a comma. 

This is surely confusing.

Perhaps you could edit this and make 4 or 5 paragraphs.  It is very hard to follow when so many thoughts are strung together.

I don't think you have anything to worry about....I am sure they can plainly see that the paper with your name and address, glued to that envelope, didn't belong on it when they look up the number.

Your friend should shred the check.  I would not worry about it. 

I do not have a complete understanding of what actually happened but I feel it is either a scam or it was an errant check in the post office.

A lot of people want to help - myself included - but they don't understand what you're saying.  Maybe you can restate the story, using paragraphs and is it $2,900 or $2.90?
