Nook versus Kindle, which is best?

I received a Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight for Christmas. These ebook readers are new to me and my HB. I noticed the Kindle PaperWhite is the same price. My HB had no idea which one to get me so he tossed a coin. Should I keep it or return and switch to Kindle. He got it at BestBuy and they carry both.
