Most guests are promoting their book, movie, TV show or charity. They are being paid by getting the publicity. Most 24 hour cable news shows have regular guest panelists who are paid and represent the viewpoints of themselves and/or the network.

I just heard this morning that NBC is telling stars if they want to appear on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show, they cannot appear on any other network's late-night shows. Really NBC???

So Comcast is buying Time Warner and already owns Universal NBC....... If you're told not to do something and your job depends on the media...hmmm
