Never tell yourself that it is "I" who has done all of this for me.
Lord, I pray and give thanks because it is You who has given me
the abilities and talents that I have to do all that I do.

Scripture for the day:

"And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of
these is love." ~1 Corinthians 13:13

Meditation for the day:

Love is the power that transforms our lives. We can try to love our
families and friends and then try to love everybody that we possibly
can, even the "sinners and publicans"--everybody. Love for God is an even
greater thing. It is the result of gratitude to God and it is the
acknowledgement of the blessings that God has sent us. Love for God
acknowledges God's gifts and leaves the way open for God to shower yet
more blessings on our thankful hearts. We can say: "Thank you, God," until
it becomes a habit.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may try to love God and all people. I pray that I may
continually thank God for all the blessings I receive.

Hello my friends! Today was fun - Lori was here most of the day - with
Ollie, and she and her Dad had some time together getting frames for old
pictures of Darla's Grandparents, and aunts and uncles weddings - and it
will be all on display at the reception. We were invited for spaghetti at
Lori's with her homemade sauce she made and it was delicious! Nothing
better than homemade! She made it more nutritious by adding more veggies to
it, like carrots and peppers etc. and it turned out great! Then we stayed
for a Domino Game - it was a fun day! At Mass today Father's Homily was so
good - it was about the Eucharist and how words change things. When a
policeman says "You're under arrest", you are, his words change things right
away - you will have to go to court, etc. because he said those words. When
at a ball game, the ump says, "You're out", it changes the game by his
words. So we should for sure know that when Jesus said, "This is my body and
this is my blood" it changes then too. We take Him on His word. His homily
today was profound! This was Fr. Mark.

MAY YOU ALWAYS FEEL LOVED
Author Unknown
August 19, 2012

May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always
understand.

May the pain you have known and the conflict you have experienced give you
the strength to walk through life facing each new situation with optimism
and courage.

Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will always be
there, even when you feel most alone.

May you discover enough goodness in others to believe in a world of peace.

May a kind word, a reassuring touch, a warm smile be yours every day of your
life, and may you give these gifts as well as receive them.

Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending.

Teach love to those who know hate, and let that love embrace you as you go
into the world.

May the teaching of those you admire become part of you, so that you may
call upon them.

Remember, those whose lives you have touched and who have touched yours are
always a part of you, even if the encounters were less than you would have
wished.

May you not become too concerned with material matters, but instead place
immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart.

Find time in each day to see the beauty and love in the world around you.

Realize that each person has limitless abilities, but each of us is
different in our own way.

What you may feel you lack in one regard may be more than compensated for in
another.

What you feel you lack in the present may become one of your strengths in
the future.

May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility.

Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience.

May you find enough inner strength to determine your own worth by yourself,
and not be dependent on an other's judgments of your accomplishments.

May you always feel loved.

RECIPE FOR KINDNESS
Author Unknown

Fold two hands together
And express a dash of sorrow
Marinate it overnight
And work on it tomorrow.

Chop one grudge in tiny pieces
Add several cups of love
Dredge with a large sized smile
Mix with the ingredients above.

Dissolve the hate within you,
By doing a good deed
Cut in and help your friend
If he should be in need.

Stir in laughter, love an kindness
>From the heart it has to come,
Toss with genuine forgiveness
And give your neighbor some.

The amount of people served
Will depend on you,
It can serve the whole wide world,
If you really want it to.

Stay

This story should remind us all to take time and care.

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside. Your son
is here," she said to the old man. She had to repeat the words several
times before the patient's eyes opened. Heavily sedated because of the
pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young man in the Marine Corps
uniform
standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand. The Marine
wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a
message of love and encouragement. The nurse brought a chair so that the
Marine
could sit alongside the bed. Nights are long in hospitals but all through
the
night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the
old man's hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally,
the
nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile. He refused.
Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and
of
the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the
laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and
moans
of the other patients. Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words.
The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the
night.

Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine placed the lifeless
hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she
had to do, he waited. Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of
sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her. "Who was that man?" he
asked. The nurse was startled, "He was your father" she answered. "No, he
wasn't," the Marine replied. "I never saw him before in my life." "Then why
didn't you say something when I took you to him?" "I knew right away, there
had been a mistake, but I also knew he needed his son, and his son just
wasn't
here.
When I realized that he was too sick to tell whether or not I was
his son, I knew how much he needed me so I stayed."
The next time someone needs you...be there. Stay

THE TATE FAMILY

Do you know how many members of the Tate family belong to your church?

There is old man Dic-Tate who wants to run everything, while Uncle Ro-Tate
tries to change everything.

There's sister Agi-Tate who stirs up plenty of trouble, with help from her
husband, Irri-Tate.

Whenever new projects are suggested, Hesi-Tate and his wife, Vege-Tate,
want to wait until next year.

Then there is Aunt Imi-Tate, who wants our church to be like all the others.

Devas-Tate provides the voice of doom, while Poten-Tate wants to be a big
shot.

But not all members of the family are bad.

Brother Facili-Tate is quite helpful in church mat
ters. And a delightful, happy
member of the family is Miss Felici-Tate. Cousins Cogi-Tate and Medi-Tate
always
thinks things over and lend helpful, steady hands.

And of course there is the white sheep of the family, Ampu-Tate, who has
completely
cut himself off from the church.

How about it - do you know anyone in the Tate family?
