Of course you would think this way.
The movie just features Academy Award winning actors, an Academy Award winning director and has tremendous "buzz" by critics.
Of course you would think it has no substance.
Typical response.
Well, you would definitely know -- you are the Queen of the "typical response."

Just curious, Traveler....does it have to be either/or?
It's about watching something about an IMPORTANT issue as OPPOSED to a movie about NOTHING important. Get it?
It's a character study movie. Full of nuance, pathos, comedy and reality. A movie about the human spirit.
No one gets blown up. No violence.
I guess some might find that boring...but I'm fascinated by people and what makes them tick. The director is superb. Can't wait to see it.

There are a...oh...gazillion people in the world who have an amazing, inspirational, rags to riches story.....why Joy Mangano?
I can't help but think, some how some way, HSN/QVC & their parent companies have a strong financial interest in this major movie.
It's been said by many..."Hollywood is running out of ideas"....so I'm glad it's not a remake of a remake that seem to fill the theater screens these days.
But it still makes me wonder & just doesn't make sense....why Joy Mangano?
Idea probably came to someone when the umpteenth box from HSN showed up on his/her doorstep, with yet another set of a kajillion hangers in yet another color. Figured they might try to get some of their money back by making a movie. LOL!

A rags to riches story, what could be better?
QVC saved Joan Rivers financially ( she attested to this in books and in interviews).
Why not Joy Mangano?

Probably better than the Ole Yeller re-runs that we see here so often.
I think I'll wait for this film to come to On Demand.

Of all the rags to riches shopping channel stories, I wonder why Joy?
Why not the Lock and Lock lady?
Or Lori Grenier?
Or the jeans lady on HSN, can't think of her name....
How about the life story of Lisa R? (Italia, I'm kidding!!!!!)

I wonder if Jennifer Lawrence had to take up the art of fast talking non stop and interupting. Joy and SG must be long lost twins, LOL!

Yeah, why not our Susan Graver????
