It used to be called that, but now it's called this..

For instance, my mom used rouge and I use blush.

I kept my clothes in a bureau but now I keep them in a dresser.

We used to sit in the parlor, but now it's a living room.

Which words or terms do you remember, or still use, that have been replaced?

My mom called it beauty parlor and beauty operator!  Now it's hairdresser and salon for some (for me it's far from a "salon"---just beauty shop!).

I grew up with the evening meal being supper.  Now our family calls it dinner.

I call them earrings; paternal grandmother (born 1895) called them earbobs.

We had a family room but I think the homes built from the 80s on call them great rooms.
