Who told you that? That might be true in some instances, but surely not all cases. Personally, I don't think people have to be the exact same age, and most working people meet individuals of all ages. You cannot control who you'll be attracted to, or fall in love with. If you restrict your "dating pool" to people only your age, finding a mate will become even more difficult.

A lot of women marry, in part, for financial security. Whether the person they marry is older, younger or the same age really doesn't matter. Happy and successful pairings occur with people of all ages.
