Is there a new language I have missed?

There must be, and I say that it gets really confusing.

I am watching a few minutes of a clothing show with host Rachel this morning.

As she is describing an item, she said something that took awhile to understand!

She said that it was a "polyesterspan."  I can only guess it meant the fabric was polyester and spandex.  She never went farther that I noticed.

I guess it can join turq, ami, and other abbreviations (can't think of all of them) that are thrown around and expected to be understood by all.

Well at least she didn't say "fabrication".  Or did she?  I have no idea because I never watch anymore.  I just get too annoyed and so I save myself the aggravation, LOL! Smiley Wink

Okay, you made me look!  Woman Happy

Yes, it's a new word; I found a skirt listed on Amazon, using that word:

At least she said polyester. I often hear poly-span. I sew and know fabric, so I know that lingo.

What I have trouble with is some of the internet-speak. Today I had to look up hth (hope that helps).

Wow, maybe she really IS ahead of me in language.

I just thought it was another made up "word."

FabricATION, colorATION, formulATION...

Beyond that, I'm still trying to wrap my head around some hosts using the pronoun "she" to refer to a handbag.

My favorite is "colorway".  Why can't the host just say:  this skirt is offering in three different colors".  Sheesh!
