We never had a problem with our other pets. The dogs couldn't have cared less about the tree (though we'd give them certain presents to "open" and they'd like that). Same thing with past cats. Usually, the cats would relax under the tree or in a remaining gift box. Even the hanging ornaments didn't bother them (and vice versa lol).
This will be our first Christmas with our new cat, and I can't wait (). He's a real predator, and I can just see him looking at that tree as a treeful of fun just for him. We'll monitor his behavior and may have to banish him to the basement when we go out.
I may have moved our huge rubber plant to one side of our big picture window to accommodate his cat tree, but I told DH I'll be darned if that tree's going to be off-kilter!
