The only reason I ask if people think that aliens are friendly or not is because what if they want to harm us, harvest us, eat us, keep us as pets?

What makes us think that we would be better than them, or that we'd become best buds, or that they would help us?

What makes people think that their intentions would be good intentions towards us?

What if their intentions towards us isn't good?

Why do we assume that they are friendly?

I haven't but I do know people who I trust who believe they did. One was my father who was probably the most logical person I know and he was also a pilot. He had many friends through the years who were also pilots and even air traffic controllers who have seen things that could not be explained with the technology we possess. 

I think it would be extremely arrogant in a universe as large as ours to think there isn't any life out there that is more intelligent than ours.
