Has anyone had a child spend a semester in London? Advice please?

My son is a college junior and spending next semester in London. I have a silly question about sending him with linens - towels, blankets, sheets. Do I send him with these items or should he purchase them in London?

He will not be on a meal plan, but will buying his own food. Does anyone have advise how much he should budget weekly?

Any or all advise about this or other advise is greatly appreciated.
