The gap makes her recognizable, which is important in modeling.  She doesn't have a "generic" look that gets many models nowhere fast.

 

I'm certain that her name got her "in" but her looks and abilities have kept her there.  

 

(I personally think that gals are cute and add character.  Always loved the looks of mentioned Madonna, Lauren Hutton, etc.)
