My son just turned 59 and has lung cancer and is his final days.

He stop smoking, but not soon enough.

Please keep on with what ever you are doing.

It will be worth it.

Please get a chest X-RAY.

Maybe if my son had gotten one his  might  have been caught sooner.

I did get a chest x-ray earlier this week, and it came back clear.

WOW!!   Xanax is a wonder drug???

It is a addicting controlled substance. She came this far without it and already said she doesn't ilke to take narcotics.

I don't think it is a good idea to tell  somebody to go ask their MD for a medication that is addicting and call it a wonder drug!

YIKES!

I didn't want to say anything, but I'm glad someone did.

Drugs like Xanax have their good uses for people that need them, but I don't feel they should be first line casually prescribed - or *asked for* out of the blue.

The OP has a lot in her plate and certainly could use something to help with her symptoms, but has already said she doesn't like to take anything addicting. Xanax is certainly AS addicting as codeine.

It might be better to just ask her doctor if there is something *he* recommends for his trying-to-quit (and  virus-sick into the bargain) patients. He might even suggest Xanax or something similar, but it would be *his* suggestion, and not perceived as possible drug-seeking behavior.

I know that my own doctor's office watches out for any such perceived behavior like a hawk and you'd better have a darned good reason for wanting it.

Congrats!!  I was always told it takes three days for your body to get over the withdrawal of something and any urges after that point are just psychological.  Which is just as hard but mind over matter.  Stay strong.

I am not in any pain now, but all day, I have had a headache, that is just now going away.

All I wanted to do today was just sleep.

First, I was burning up, with sweat pouring off of me, then I would be freezing cold.

I was in a dry coughing fit, when, without warning.....

Are you on the medication still? I find it makes me violently ill and I vomit from it. It may have nothing to do with giving up cigarettes.

Anyway, hang in there. You will feel so much better soon! The headache ...is it possible that you have skipped coffee because you have been so ill? Coffee helped me when I quit smoking.

Good luck and keep us posted. Feel better...

No, I am not taking the pain pills.

I took one last night, and that was it.

Truth be told, these narcotics scare the daylights out of me. I take them. VERY sparingly.

They make me sick too. Hang in there and Good Luck!!!
