Daily Positive Thread for Thursday

Peace of Jesus to you all! Hope you all had a great day today and enjoyed God's many blessings! I'm very much grateful that after our going out to eat with his brothers and sisters again to celebrate another birthday amongst us, we escaped an accident - praised be God! Thanks to our Guardian Angels for their help, too! It was scary, but we're okay and nothing happened! Deil called and said that Monica, her neighbor who will be bringing her here tomorrow and to go shopping etc, will be bringing soup that she made! I'm looking forward to seeing them both! I plan to make some homemade Tom and Jerry's! Got that recipe years ago from Deil! Buying the cartons in the stores are expensive for the little bit you get!

I love reading about your blessings - as we keep this thread always positive and giving God the credit where it's due!

If everyone thought alike, no one would have to do much thinking.

Lord, bless me with the strength of my convictions and the ability

to disagree when necessary without being disagreeable.

Scripture for the day:

"Through Christ you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the

dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are set on God." ~1

Peter 1:21

Meditation for the day:

God's miracle-working power is as manifest today as it was in the past.

It still works miracles of change in lives and miracles of healing in

troubled minds. When a person trusts wholly in God and leaves to God

the choosing of the day and hour, there is God's miracle-working power

becoming manifest in that person's life. We can trust in God and have

boundless faith in God's power to make us whole again.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may feel sure that there is nothing that God cannot

accomplish in changing my life. I pray that I may have faith in God's

miracle-working power.

Here's some Food for Thought:

PERSPECTIVE

By Sally I Kennedy

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised

is faithful." Hebrews 10:23

Sorting through fifty years of stuff was an incredible journey back in

time through our parents' earthly sojourn. My sister and I were

sitting on the living room sofa, which still had the arm covers on it.

Boxes of photos and letters and saved treasures were mounded up around

us. We always joked about there being a lot to go through after Dad

died, especially that attic!

We talked and cried, and it was evident how my sister sees and

remembers things about our Dad one way, while I remember another. We

were kids who grew up in the same family, yet viewed and related to

our mom and dad in different ways.

Our dad was the same person always. Whether with my sister or with me,

he was still "Daddy". Our different views of him did not change who he

was at all. It was just our perspective.

That may be how God's klds, brothers and sisters in the church, view

and relate to God. Individually. Perhaps the views and relationships

to God are from very different perspectives.

Yet God is ALWAYS the same, unswerving and unchanging. Faithful. El

Shaddai. El Elyon Adonai. The much loved hymn, Great Is Thy

Faithfulness, says there is no shadow of turning with Him. He is the

same yesterday, today, and forever.

Isn't it SO wonderful that in our lives, where everything is

constantly changing, there is something/Someone who is not? It is a

great comfort to me; a foundation on which to safely build and live.

Yes, that is good news.

PEACE OF HEART

Almighty and Eternal God,

Give me, I beseech You,

the great gift of inward peace.

Command the winds and storms

of my unruly passions.

Subdue, by Your grace, my proneness to love created things too much.

Give me a love of suffering for Your sake.

make me forbearing and kind to others,

that I may avoid quarrels and contentions.

And teach me constantly to seek after

and to acquire that perfect resignation

to Your Holy Will

which alone brings interior peace.

Amen.

Unceasing Prayer Dear Father, who answers our prayers, Help me to be

steadfast in my praying to you, even to stay awake that I may pray! Fill my

life with thanksgiving to you. O God, I pray for all your servants

everywhere that you may open a door for us to proclaim your Word, to declare

the now-public secret - Christ crucified, glorified, and coming - and to

make the message clear, as we ought to speak. In the name of Jesus I ask you

to fill our lives with your holy life and to claim all our motives and deeds

as your own. Amen.
