Commemorative Olympic Gold Medals for Saturday's SOCHI Winners

Saturday, February 15th, marks the one year anniversary of the Chelyabinsk meteorite landing in Russia, so they have created special gold medals that are embedded with a piece of that rock. These will be awarded in addition to the regular gold medal they earn.

I think this is a really neat idea.

I guess I'm the only one who thinks this medal is cool! I think only 7 events have their Finals that day so this is truly a limited edition item.

I think having a piece of the rock is great, but I don't know that I'd want it in my medal. It's a creative idea, though.

They will receive the normal medal, too. This is just a bonus for Saturday's Gold winners.
